Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

IO Mobile Lab builds apps around a simple promise: your data is yours. We run no backend, and we never receive, store, or see the things you copy, write, or experiment with. This policy explains exactly what that means across our apps — Klip, Ginko and Labstein.

What we collect

Nothing on our servers — because we don't run any. There is no IO Mobile Lab account, no login, and no database operated by us. Our apps work entirely on your devices and through storage that you choose and control.

Your data and where it lives

Everything you create — clips in Klip, notes in Ginko, experiments in Labstein — is stored locally on your device as plain files. If you turn on sync, the app writes those files into a folder or bucket inside a service you already use (such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or an S3-compatible bucket). Those files travel only between your devices through that provider. They never pass through any server operated by us.

Your cloud provider

When you enable sync, your chosen provider handles the transfer and storage of those files under its own terms and privacy policy. Our apps cannot read your account there beyond the single folder or bucket you point them at. You can stop syncing or delete that location at any time.

Optional AI features

Some apps offer optional AI assistance (for example, Ginko's side assistant and, on the roadmap, MCP agents). These features are off by default. When you turn one on and send content to a model, that content is processed by the AI provider you configured — often with your own API key — under that provider's terms. We do not run our own AI servers and do not receive that content.

Content you bring in

When you import or reference material from third-party sources — such as Instagram, YouTube or websites in Labstein — your device contacts those services directly, subject to their terms and privacy policies. We do not proxy, collect, or store that activity.

Encryption

Where offered, our apps support optional end-to-end encryption. When enabled, your data is encrypted on your device with a key that only you hold, so even your cloud provider cannot read it. We never receive that key.

Analytics and tracking

Our apps contain no third-party advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking. We do not build profiles of you, and we do not sell or share personal data. Any diagnostics, where offered by the platform, are aggregate and optional, and never include the contents of your data.

This website (iomobilelab.com) optionally uses Google Analytics to understand visits — only if you accept the cookie banner. It is anonymous, never includes anything you create in our apps, and is entirely separate from the apps, which remain tracking-free.

Payments

If you subscribe to a paid plan, the purchase is processed by the platform's store (Apple App Store or Google Play) or our payment processor. We receive only the information needed to activate your subscription — never your full card details.

Data retention

Because your data lives on your devices and in your own cloud, you control retention. Deleting items in an app, or removing the sync folder, removes them. Uninstalling an app removes its local data from that device.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing on our side to export or erase. You retain full control of your data on your devices and in your cloud at all times. Where laws such as GDPR or CCPA apply, you may still contact us with any question.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children and do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the date above and post the new version on this page.
